Shahjalal University of Science and Technology [SUST]

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) is a public research university located in Kumargaon, Sylhet, Bangladesh. Established in 1986, it is one of the leading universities in pioneering research and education in the physical sciences and engineering in the country. SUST is also the first university in Bangladesh to adopt the American credit system.

The university has 7 schools, 27 departments, 2 institutes, and 2 centers. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in a wide range of disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science, engineering, and economics.

SUST has a strong research focus and has been ranked as the top research university in Bangladesh by Scopus-SCImago institution ranking. The university has also been recognized for its internationalization efforts and has signed MoUs with over 100 universities around the world.
