The University of Chittagong is a public research university located in Hathazari, Chittagong, Bangladesh. It was founded in 1966 and is the third oldest university in Bangladesh. CU has a total of 27,550 students and 1,800 faculty members. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs in a variety of disciplines, including science, engineering, arts, humanities, business, and law.
CU is known for its high-quality education and research. The university has produced many notable alumni, including Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, Ekushey Padak recipient Anisul Haque, and Bangla Academy Award winner Mohammad Nazimuddin.
CU is also home to a number of research institutes and centers, including the Institute of Water and Flood Management, the Institute of Marine Sciences and Fisheries, and the Center for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences. The university also has a number of hospitals and clinics, which provide healthcare services to the local community.
