Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College

Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College (SOMC) is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical schools in Bangladesh. It was established in 1962 as Sylhet Medical College, and was renamed after General MAG Osmani, a hero of the Bangladesh Liberation War, in 1986. SOMC is located in the city of Sylhet, in the northeast of Bangladesh. It is a government medical college, and is affiliated with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

SOMC offers a five-year MBBS program, which leads to the degree of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. The college also offers postgraduate programs in a variety of medical specialties. SOMC has a teaching hospital, Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, which is one of the largest and busiest hospitals in Sylhet division.
