Dhaka Political Institute (DPI) is a government technical institute in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the largest and the oldest polytechnic academia in modern Bangladesh. The polytechnic was established in 1955 with the assistance of the Ford Foundation. It is affiliated with the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB).
The institute has a highly qualified and experienced faculty and well-equipped laboratories and workshops. DPI also has a strong focus on student development and extracurricular activities. The institute has a number of student clubs and societies, including sports, cultural, and academic clubs.
DPI is a highly selective institution, and admission is based on a competitive entrance examination. The institute graduates a large number of highly skilled technicians and engineers each year, who play a vital role in the development of Bangladesh.
DPI is also a leading center for research and development in technical education. The institute has a number of research projects underway in collaboration with industry and other academic institutions.
